Welcome to my new site, charleneli.com. This is my new online home, where you can find my latest blog posts, see if I’m coming to vist your home town, or to learn more about my books, especially Open Leadership which will be published in May.

Some of you may have been reading my blog at AltimeterGroup.com, which is my company’s site. I haven’t left Altimeter, but rather, set up this site so that it’s clear when I’m speaking as Charlene and when I’m speaking on behalf of Altimeter.

But why do this outside of Altimeter? Why not have an individual blog inside of the company’s site? Well, like any relationship, it’s complicated, and yet so simple. My work is Altimeter, and it carries in it my blood, sweat, and tears. I’m deeply committed to the company and to its success.

But there’s a lot more to Charlene Li than Altimeter. I write books, I’m a mom, and I’m a private citizen. With this site, I have the ability to speak more broadly about who I am without worrying about how it will make my company look, checking out things with my partners, etc.

Don’t worry – you’re not about to read my travails about being a working mom (at least not all the time!). My focus will continue to be on the transformation of organizations and leadership.

I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation on this new blog, and welcome your frank feedback and new ideas.
